The Internets remain undefeated. The Michael Jordan crying face meme was recently a question on Jeopardy!
As one of the longest running television game shows in history, Jeopardy! frequently infuses pop culture references into their questioning. Alex Trabeck and company tapped into another social media trend that seems to be a never-ending treasure chest of laughs.
Under the subject “Fond Memories,” the question was: “For some reason, a picture of this athlete crying after his NBA Hall of Fame induction in 2009 became meme-worthy in ’16.” Obviously the answer was “Who is Michael Jordan?” and the male contestant got it right.
Since 2015 the Jordan crying face has been the go to image whenever there is struggle in and out of the sports world. It has become so iconic that the Michael’s legal team keeps a careful eye out to “monitor” anyone trying to use it for commercial gain.
While the Chicago Bulls great has yet to formally comment on the meme, his buddy Charles Oakley admitted that his Airness does not like it at all. You can view the Jeopardy! segment below.
